One of my all-time favorite recipes is this one that I came up with off the top of my head. This recipe is jam-packed with tons of bold flavor and HEAT. The creaminess of the sauce and the delicious, umami flavor from the shrimp took my taste buds on a journey!

Another thing that really adds to the tastiness of this dish is the Parmesan cheese this is topped with. For any of you pasta lovers, DO NOT be afraid to go heavy on the Parmesan or cheese of your choice - be mindful of how salty the cheese is in ratio to the saltiness of the sauce.

Recipe | Spicy Shrimp Pasta

Yield: 4 servings Ingredients:

Shrimp, peeled, de-veined, 1 lb Penne, dried, 1 box

Salt, to taste

Pepper, to taste

Garlic Powder, 2 tsp

Red Pepper Flakes, 1 tbsp

Oregano Leaves, dried, 1 tsp

Red Pepper, ground, 1 tsp

Butter, unsalted, 2 tabs

Canola Oil, 2 tbsp

Onion, yellow, diced, 1 each

Garlic, sliced, 4 cloves

Vegetable broth, 1 ounce

Pasta Sauce, 1 jar

Parsley, dried, 1 tbsp

Heavy Cream, 2 ounces

Parmesan Cheese, to taste

Method of Preparation:

1. Set a large pot on the stove filled with salted water. Ensure the water tastes salty and bring to a boil.

2. In a medium bowl, wash, clean and pat-dry the shrimp.

3. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, oregano leaves, garlic powder and rep pepper flakes. Set aside.

4. When water has come to a boil, cook pasta for about 7 minutes until al dente.

5. While the pasta is cooking, place a pan over medium heat, add oil and sear shrimp on each side for about 1 min - avoid overcooking. Set shrimp aside on a plate.

6. Place two tabs of butter in the pan, add onions and allow to caramelize.

7. Add garlic and saute with onions for 1 min.

8. Deglaze pan with vegetable broth and stir to get bits off the bottom of pan.

9. Add pasta sauce - if you have a little stuck at the bottom, add water to the jar, shake it up and add that into the pasta sauce. Otherwise, add 2 ounces of water.

10. Season sauce with salt, pepper, the other half of the tablespoon of red pepper flakes and dried parsley. Stir.

11. Pour in heavy cream and stir until well incorporated.

12. Place shrimp in the pan and allow it to simmer in the sauce.

13. Add cooked paste into the pan and toss with shrimp and sauce.

14. Serve and garnish with Parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
